Zekoi, nicknamed Zek, is a marmoset Daine rescued when she first arrived in Carthak. Zek was born in the wild. He married and had three children before he was captured and sold as a pet.
Zek's owner, who Zek called "Monsterboy", dropped him in the River Zekoi and he nearly drowned due to the weight of his jeweled collar. Daine immediately dove into the river to save him from the crocodiles and drowning. She named him after the river, and they quickly became friends.
When Emperor Ozorne locked Daine in a magically shielded and windowless cell, Zek stole a set of keys and freed her.
He appears in Emperor Mage.
