Weishu Maorin Guangong Zhian, 6th of the Long Dynasty, often just known as Weishu, is the emperor of Yanjing. He started the war with Gyongxe and went head to head with Briar Moss, Evumeimei Dingzai, and Rosethorn during the war in 1039 KF. One of his top mages and agents is Jia Jiu.

During Battle Magic

The emperor invites the three travelers to his court at the Winter Palace, for the purpose of showing Dedicate Rosethorn and Briar Moss his spectacular gardens. His lavish gifts and spectacles make the three mages quite uncomfortable. He is fascinated by Rosethorn, Briar, and especially Evvy's talents during their stay.

Because Briar and Evvy set Weishu's royal slave Parahan free, the emperor labels the travelers as his enemies.

In the end, he is defeated by the God-King, who uses the ancient powers of Gyongxe to thwart him.

Personality and Beliefs

Weishu is non-religious, and believes that magic is simply a tool to be used, rather than it having any spiritual aspects. He expresses disdain for the religious and spiritual views of Gyongxe, and instead focuses on the material wealth he would gain from taking control of the land. It is his hubris, and his belief of complete control and power that destroys him in the end.

He is also a very cruel man. Charming, albeit cruel. He has his gardeners and roses burned for showing just one hint of rot during an inspection. In wartime, he is notorious for his war crimes - killing civilians, animals, and anything in his way to achieve his goals. He is absolutely ruthless, and shows that in his treatment of his opponents.
