Skysong, also known as Kitten, is a dragonet (young dragon) that Daine rescues in Wild Magic. She is normally colored sky blue, but can change her color at will. Her eyes have been described as having slit-pupils, like a cat, and are either blue or amber-colored. In the last book which she was described, her body was two feet long, with an additional foot of tail. She can walk on all four legs, or just her hind legs. She is still an infant dragon, and will remain one for at least thirty years, therefore her wings are flightless. She has magical abilities controlled by whistling. Kitten can whistle locks open, and can neaten a person's appearance. Kit cannot communicate mind-to-mind with Daine because she is too young, but she can speak the dragon language. Her mother was a dragon named Flamewing, who died during Wild Magic, and Daine now cares for her. Her other relatives are her grandmother, Wingstar, and her grandfather, Diamondflame. They both live in the Dragonlands.
