Seaver of Tasride (pronounced SEE-vuhr of TAZ-righd) is one of Keladry of Mindelan's yearmates. He is described as having black hair and eyes and a dark skintone which suggests some Bazhir ancestry. His page-sponsor was Prince Roald of Tortall.

Seaver is quiet. He does not draw attention to himself. He provides Tkaa with an accurate description of immortals in their first class on Magic, but adds that spidrens are monsters: one killed his father. On Kel's finding him being bullied by Joren of Stone Mountain, Vinson of Genlith and Garvey of Runnerspring, he flees. However, the next evening he and Faleron of King's Reach join Kel and Neal's study group, Seaver with the excuse of needing help with mathematics. He later becomes part of the group who fight those who take the traditional hazing of first-years too far.

When Lord Wyldon takes the pages on camp, they are called upon by the King's Own to aid them in hunting down spidrens. Seaver, with the rest of the first-year pages, makes up a third rank, providing duties as sentries. His attention frequently goes to the battle behind him, and he is caught off-guard when Kel signals the presence of spidrens. On seeing the one that murdered his father, he abandons his post and attacks - only Kel's knocking him out of the way saves him.

Seaver becomes a friend of Kel, Neal and the others. He is one of the pages who 'reports for inspection' to Kel before Midwinter service, Kel ensuring that their appearances are all in check. On the first night during his second year, he is the victim of Joren's scheme to embarrass the pages who stop him from bullying: someone jostles him, causing him to spill wine on the head of the royal university (this may be referring to Harailt of Aili, described as both head and dean of the university).

Seaver is also the great-nephew of Marinie of Trebond, née Marinie of Tasride, mother of Alanna the Lioness. This means that his father, killed by a spidren, was Alanna's cousin. Given Alanna's colouring, this makes it more likely that his potential Bazhir ancestry comes from Seaver's mother's family, not his father's.
