Rubinyan Jimajen was a Kyprish nobleman, and born to one of the more influentialluarin noble families. He is husband to Imajane Rittevon, and elder brother of Bronau Jimajen. Before the events of Trickster's Choice, Rubinyan and Mequen were good friends.
During Trickster's Choice, Rubinyan and his wife orchestrate the death of King Hazarin by poison, putting Dunevon Rittevon on the throne. As Dunevon is only a boy, they become his regency council. When Bronau kills Mequen, Rubinyan himself comes to Tanair to offer his sincerest apologies on behalf of his brother, and to extend an invitation to the family to return to Rajmuat. Duchess Winnamine accepts.
In Tricksters Queen, Prince Rubinyan and his wife welcome the long-exiled Balitangs back to Rajmuat society. He pushes for Lady Saraiyu and Lord Elsren to remain at court, but is greatly outnumbered. Instead, he and his wife content themselves by inviting the Balitangs to the palace almost daily in order to keep an eye on them, especially Lady Sarai. When the riots get more difficult to handle, the prince and princess regent extend an offer of marriage between Sarai and their nephew, King Dunevon. They express anger when Sarai declines by running away with Zaimid Hetnim. In order to gain the throne, the regents devise a plan to rid themselves of Dunevon and Elsren. They hire mages to sink the boy king's ship during an outing, killing both Dunevon and Elsren. Aly of Pirate's Swoop discovers that Kyprioth gave them the idea in order to make it easier for the raka to take back control of the Copper Isles. Because the king and his heir are dead, the prince and princess regent became King and Queen of the Copper Isles.
