Kyprioth's plan was set into action when [[Alianne Cooper]] was kidnapped by pirates and sold into slavery at the Balitangs'. Alianne, better known as Aly, was not an ordinary girl. The daughter of the [[Totallan]] spymaster, [[George Cooper]], and the [[King's Champion]], [[Alanna of Trebond]], Aly had to hide both her parentage and her extrodinary skills to aviod her father's enemies. Aly wanted to be a spy, and indeed had all the skills necessary to be extraordinary. However, her father feared that the position was to dangerous, and forbid it. Kyprioth, using Aly's greatest dedires, made a wager with her. She would keep the Balitang girls alive for the summer (their mother had been killed years ago in a failed horse jump), and he would tell her father to let her spy. Fail, and she would serve him for a year-- if she was still alive.

The raka rebellion took place in the summer/fall of 463 HE in the Copper Isles. It was led by the raka conspiracy.

History

Rittevon of Lenman conquered the Isles in 181 HE, and took the throne then. The later Rittevon kings of the luarin dynasty were incredibly cruel, and enslaved the raka.

Kyprioth, the patron god of the raka and the Isles, had been defeated by Mithros and the Great Mother Goddess. In 200 HE, 20 years after the ascension of King Rittevon, Kyprioth made a promise to his people through a priestess. It later became known as the Kyprish Prophecy.

"In a time of fear, the One Who I Promised will come to the raka, bearing glory in her train and justice in her hand. She will restore the god to his proper temple and his children to her right hand. She will be twice royal, wise and beloved, a living emblem of truth to her people. She will be attended by a wise one, the cunning one, the strong one, the warrior, and the crows. She will give a home to all, and the kudarung will fly in her honor."
—Excerpt from the Kyprish Prophecy, from 200 H.E.[src]

Events

Surrounding the prophecy, a conspiracy formed. Because the raka were so beaten down, the only thing they could really do at first was to ensure that a cadet branch of the Haiming Dynasty remained unscathed. They kept the Temaida's Haiming blood a secret from the Rittevon rulers and protected them, waiting for a twice-royal queen. They had to wait nearly three centuries before a candidate was born.

Saraiyu and Dovasary Balitang were born to Duke Mequen, a member of the Rittevon family, and Sarugani Temaida, a descendant of the Haiming Dynasty. As the two girls would be considered twice-royal, the raka conspiracy had its queen candidate in Sarai at first.

In the summer of 463 HE, Sarai eloped to Carthak with Zaimid Hetnim. In her defense, she did not know about what the raka conspiracy planned for her, and thus did not know she was abandoning her people. The conspiracy's queen candidate shifted to Dove, Sarai's younger and quieter sister.

In the early autumn of 463 HE, the raka conspiracy joined with the luarin conspiracy after the deaths of Dunevon Rittevon and Elsren Balitang, both of whom were little boys who were killed by the regents Imajane and Rubinyan.

Later that autumn, the raka conspiracy and its soldiers attacked the Grey Palace and were successful in the attempt. Dovasary Balitang crowned herself queen according to Kyprin custom in Midwinter of 463/64 HE.
