Queensgrace is a township in northern Tortall. It is presumably within the fiefdom of Princehold, as Fief Queensgrace was stripped from the original family in 249 HE, renamed Princehold, and bequeathed to Sabine of Macayhill.
History[]
In the third century HE, Queensgrace was the name of a fief of Tortall and it was a county—the head of the Queensgrace noble family held the title Count. In the mid 200s, the Count was Dewin of Queensgrace, and his wife was the Lady Aeldra. Because the count and countess were involved in a treasonous plot headed by Prince Baird that involved kidnapping the young son of the king and queen of Tortall, they were stripped of their title and executed. The lands were added on to the fiefdom Princehold, and were granted as a boon to Sabine of Macayhill.[1] Queensgrace is also where the conspirators managed to turn Matthias Tunstall onto their side while Rebakah Cooper and Lady Sabine were staying there while on their mission.
In the 5th century HE, there is still a village called Queensgrace that presumably is still part of the fiefdom of Princehold. This village is reduced, but it does have an inn, a magistrate, and other things. In 460 HE, a company of knights that included Keladry of Mindelan and Nealan of Queenscove stopped in Queensgrace and stayed at the local inn.
