The lowest class of the Tharian class system. Similar to Hindu untouchables there are seen as less then human, if noticed at all by the other classes. To associate with a Prathmun is to become unclean.
Since no respectable person will associate with them Prathmun are forced to live on the streets and take jobs removing garbage and decay from the city. Prathmun are the only group of people lowly enough to be near and deal with the dead.
The Ghost
The Ghost is reveled to be a Prathmun whose father was a man of the First Class and mother a yaskedasu. he was taking revenge on the fine society from which he came by debosting the bodies of the yaskedasu in public places so the shame of there immorality and death would taint the purity of the First Class.
