Pirisi (pronounced peer-EE-see) is the nursemaid and later servant of Lady Sandrilene fa Toren who died during the Smallpox Epidemic in Hatar. She is a Trader and possesses magic, which she used to hide her ten year old charge during the epidemic. After she hides Sandry she is killed outside of the concealed door by a mob. Sandry states that she was killed because she was a "hated" Trader and the people of Hatar needed someone to blame for the Smallpox. [1] Pirisi had three children of her own, who died from the smallpox two days before she was killed[2].

Pirisi had always put peach sachets into the boxes holding Sandry's clothes in order to give them a sweet scent[3].
