Template:Location infoboxPirate's Swoop is a Tortallan barony on the eastern side of the Emerald Ocean and the western coast of Tortall. It was bequeathed to George Cooper, former commoner and King of Thieves, by King Jonathan IV in 439 HE. In the past it had been a favorite hide out for pirates (as the name suggests). Numair Salmalín lived near the Swoop, at least when Veralidaine Sarrasri first comes to Tortall. It is the location of the beginnings of the Immortals War, before war was declared.
Location and close landmarks
The Swoop is a day's ride south of Port Caynn (and of Buzzard Rocks). The Conté Road connects the Swoop with Irontown, a city located in the Royal Forest. The road extends along the River Bonnett and the river itself deposits into the Emerald Ocean near the Swoop[1].
Castle description
It has 3 towers (one large, thick tower in the center and two smaller towers on either side) and is surrounded by a fortress off the main road. According to Thom, during the siege of Pirate's Swoop, the castle is dug into the rock with plenty of hidden space below ground. There are hills to the east of the Swoop, and two neighboring fiefs on good terms with the family are Tameran and Port Legann.
