Pasco Acalon is the son of Macarin and Zahra Acalon (née Quais). They are both Harriers, or Provost's Guards. He becomes Sandry's student in Magic Steps when she discovers his unique form of magic. Pasco is the only known ambient mage to channel his power through dance. Because there are no other dancing mages Sandry has to teach him, as she is the mage to have found him. She enlists the help of Yazmín Hebet to teach him dancing and teaches him to meditate.
Pasco is very lively and outgoing, always getting into trouble. His cousins call him "tippy-feet" because he is always dancing. He feels guilty that he cannot fulfil his family's expectations of joining the Harriers but knows that his magic is not just frivolous. He is first discovered by Sandry when dancing a spell to help catch fish for Osabo Netmender's father. This spell is adapted to help catch the murderers Alzena Dihanur and Nurhar Dihanur. He then moves into Yazmín's school to learn more.
