Sergeant Osbern (pronounced AWZ-buhrn) was a member of the King's Own and served under Raoul of Goldenlake and Captain Whiteford in the Third Company.
King's Own[]
He is a good sergeant and understanding. When men under his command were gossiping about Squire Keladry, he interrupted them by saying he needed to inspect their gear or heads will roll.
When he found Noack yelling at Kel for looking through Flyndan Whiteford's bags—as she thought the packs were Lord Raoul's due to a trick from Lerant of Eldorne—he immediately set things right, recognizing Kel. When Kel explained that a man told her she was to do a wine service but that she couldn't remember who said that to her, Osbern said that it was a shame she didn't remember, as he would have words with that man. He also said that Lord Raoul would not drink spirits, although Captain Whiteford sometimes does.
Traits & Characteristics[]
He is described as a blond, barrel-chested man, and burly. His voice is gruff and decisive.
