Orielle Clavynger was a Tortallan mage of the 3rd century HE. She was the personal mage of Queen Jessamine. She became involved in the rebel conspiracy to overthrow King Roger II and place the king's younger brother, Prince Baird, on the throne[2].

Biography

Education

She was educated in the City of the Gods, as was Ironwood of Sinthya[3].

Involvement in conspiracy

Orielle and Ironwood of Sinthya had been involved in Baird's conspiracy a long time before any plans were put into motion[2]. Orielle's proximity to the royal family and to Gareth of Conté helped Prince Baird in his plot. Orielle and Ironwood likely orchestrated the kidnapping of Prince Gareth. When questioned by Rebakah Cooper, she was sweet as ever, and also very earnest—with a hint of iron in her eyes[3]. She was one of the many mages who were part of the conspiracy, including Lazamon of Buckglen, Elyot of Aspen Vale, Dolsa Silkweb, and Ironwood.

Orielle and Ironwood joined the rest of the main conspirators at Halleburn Castle in late June, having been expelled from the Summer Palace by Cassine Catfoot. There, she dropped her sweet demeanor and scolded Ironwood for trying to make excuses for himself[2].

Farmer Cape managed to outsmart the conspiracy mages, despite his unconventional education. He stole all their power, and they were buried under mud, with only their heads exposed. Beka and Sabine meant for them to stay there until the Earl of King's Reach would come along—of course, this would be a few hours[4].

Physical description

She was 5'8", the same height as Rebakah Cooper, with white skin and blonde hair. Her eyes were wide-spaced and blue[3].

Appearances

Orielle only appears in Mastiff, the third installment of the Provost's Dog trilogy.
