Numair Salmalín was born Arram Draper. He is a black-robe mage, trained at the university in Carthak. He fled the country and changed his name when his friend Ozorne turned on him. He fled Carthak and disguised himself as a Juggler for some years. He then moved on into the Palace and became a spy. After that, he met Veralidaine Sarrasri and became her Teacher.
He eventually married Veralidaine Sarrasri and has two children, Sarralyn and Rikash.
