Hello Scatter89. I appreciate your help in bettering Jonathan of Conté's page, but we cannot have text that is copied word-for-word from another source. If there are no quotations around a sentence that is directly copied, even with a citation afterward, it is still plagiarism. This message is to let you know that I have removed two paragraphs of word-for-word copied text that you added to Jonathan's page. If you would like that information (re: future plans and Crown inheritance) to be included on his page, please write it up in your own words and add the appropiate citiation. Thanks!
Hi again Scatter89. I noticed that the plagiarism extended to many more pages in addition to Jonathan's page. In the cases were only a few sentences were added, I have rewritten them so as to be paraphrased with proper citation. In other cases, where the edits were more extensive, I (and Mk101 our admin) have rolled back the changes. This means that should you wish to have the information included in the future (and if I don't get back to pages before you return), you will need to re-add the information. When you do, make sure you do not copy the text, but rather paraphrase and then add the proper citations. If you are unsure how to include information without plagiarizing the content, I am happy to review your revisions for you and explain the necessary procedures for this wikia. Feel free to comment on my Wall with any questions you may have. I really don't want to scare you away from contributing, and I hope that you do return, as your information would add a lot to the pages - it just has to be done without being copied word-for-word. Thanks. :)
Hi, thanks so much for your helpful edits. One thing, the Tortallan Universe page is supposed to be an overarching page about the Tortallan Universe in general, and readers can go to specific country pages to read about Culture. Please put any specific cultural, governmental, economical, etc. information in specific country pages.
Also, please don't copy/paste long expanses of information from Pierce's tumblr, and instead paraphrase and then cite according to wiki standards. Basically only do quotations for really small paragraphs, and use the Quote template. For the rest, like for biography information, it would be best to paraphrase.
Anyway, what are your favorite books by Tamora Pierce?!
