Maude Tanner was the village healer in Trebond. She taught the twins Alanna of Trebond and Thom of Trebond all she knew about the magical Gift. She also helped then in their plan to switch places, taking Thom in his disguise as a girl to the City of the Gods.
Maude later became the healer of Pirate's Swoop and nursemaid to Alanna's children, Thom, Alan and Alianne of Pirate's Swoop.
