Kidunka, also known as The World Snake, is a god in the Tortallan Universe pantheon. He is mainly worshipped by the Banjiku tribes of Carthak. He is a Great God.

Mythology

Kidunka is the world snake, and is believed by the Banjiku to be the reason the Earth holds itself together. He stabilized the planet by wrapping himself around it and biting his own tail. Because he is Father Universe's and Mother Flame's first child, he was there for the creation of the universe and the planets, and was therefore able to be with Earth.

The Banjiku believe that the world will end when the Fire Ant Queen sends her army to crawl inside Kidunka's nostrils in order to make him open his mouth and thus let the world go.

The Immortals War

As one of the Great Gods, Kidunka fought Uusoae, Queen of Chaos and his younger sister.

After Uusoae was defeated and exiled by Father Universe and Mother Flame, Kidunka told Mithros and the Great Mother Goddess that they had to do something about Veralidaine Sarrasri, a demigoddess and the daughter of Weiryn and the Green Lady. Kidunka claimed that half-gods caused trouble if they were allowed too much freedom, thus prompting Mithros to force Daine to choose between the Divine Realms and the Mortal Realms, thus ultimately choosing between godhood and mortality.

Kidunka only appears in The Realms of the Gods, but is mentioned in Emperor Mage.
