Ironwood of Sinthya was a Tortallan nobleman who lived in the 3rd century HE. He was King Roger's personal mage.
Biography
Early life
As a nobleman with a magical Gift, he trained at the City of the Gods, along with Orielle Clavynger[1]. At some point he entered the King's service as a mage, and rose up through the ranks.
Conspiracy
When King Roger II made it known that he wished to ratify new legislation for mages, many of them were unsettled and angered at the king's interference, including Ironwood and Orielle. They joined Prince Baird's rebel conspiracy even before it had any traction. They were likely responsible for Prince Gareth's kidnapping and aided the conspirators.
They were banished from the Summer Palace by Cassine Catfoot, and they had to take refuge at Halleburn Castle with the rest of the noble conspirators. Ironwood was beginning to have second thoughts and complained aloud to Sabine of Macayhill and Rebakah Cooper, and Orielle scolded him for that thinking[2].
They were defeated by Farmer Cape, as he had the power to suck their magic from them and bury them in the earth until only their heads were exposed. They left them there for the Earl of King's Reach to find.
Ironwood was likely officially executed for his high treason.
