Hurroks are immortal creatures that appear in several novels of the Tortall Universe, most notably, The Immortals Quartet.

Description

Hurroks are generally described as winged horses similar to a pegasus, but with claws instead of hooves, and the eyes and fangs of a predator. Their name is believed to have originated in the slurring of the words 'horse-hawk'.

No specific Hurrok characters appear in any of The Immortals books, but unnamed Hurroks attack Daine and Numair on several occasions.

Wyldon of Cavall has a scar from his right eye to his right ear from when he was protecting the younger princes and princess from a hurrok.
