Windfeld (pronounced WIND-fehld) was a Marenite commoner of the 5th century HE. He owned the Wandering Bard, an inn located in Berat. His wife was Saren, so hearing of the civil war was especially hard for her[1].

Biography

Early life

Windfeld had become acquainted with Myles of Olau when both men were younger, and they kept up a regular correspondence. He had also been acquainted with Liam Ironarm—which makes sense as all three men knew each other from their earlier years.

Arrival of a legend

Sir Myles had written to Windfeld about adopting Alanna of Trebond, the first woman knight of Tortall in a century. When Windfeld received this letter informing him of the adoption and Alanna's disguise when she was younger, the stables at the Wandering Bard had burned, so Windfeld didn't pay attention that well[2].

Winfeld was a bit taken aback when he noticed that Faithful shared the same purple eyes as Alanna and made the Sign against Evil. He informed Alanna of the civil strife in Sarain and how trouble was brewing[2].

Appearances

Windfeld only appears in Lioness Rampant, the final installment of the Song of the Lioness quartet.
