Hazarin Rittevon (pronounced HAA-zahr-ihn RIHT-ehv-on) was King of the Copper Isles for only a few months during 462 HE. He was a member of House Rittevon. He succeeded his father, King Oron, as king[1], but had no children. He died in 462 HE of heart failure due to unhealthy eating habits[2], passing his reign onto his younger half-brother, Dunevon Rittevon.
Biography
Early life
As a prince of the Copper Isles, Hazarin had many siblings[3]. King Oron was convinced that if his children liked one another, they would band together to dethrone him. Thus, Oron encouraged hatred and rivalry between his children[2]. Prince Hazarin especially hated his half-sister, Princess Imajane, but it is unknown how he felt about his other siblings. Due to the way they were raised, he was at least indifferent if not hostile to the others.
When he was still a child, he contracted an illness that did not kill him but left him barren and unable to have children of his own[1].
Prince Hazarin married some point before 462 HE. Their lack of children was blamed on her supposed infertility as opposed to his. She would beg him for a child, but would never get one[1].
Succeeding his father
Before his death, King Oron urged his heir to beget children and heirs of his own[1], and that it was his duty as king and a member of the Rittevon family to create more Rittevons. This was seen in one of Aly's dream visits with Kyprioth the trickster god. Hazarin was crowned by Mithran priests not long after his father's death. As king, he engaged in unhealthy habits and indulged in rich food. This was not good for his heart.
Hazarin named his only surviving half-brother, Dunevon Rittevon, as his heir. He also made it so Princess Imajane and Prince Rubinyan would be the boy's regents if Hazarin died before Dunevon came of age.
He later died of heart failure[2]. Kyprioth even had a bet with the Graveyard Hag that a Rittevon king even had a heart. The attendants serving him knew they would be blamed for the King's death, so they ran to avoid capture[2]. Aly was present at his death, and he asked if she was the Black God. When the God appeared, he was kind as always and Hazarin went without complaint. The former king was pleased that Imajane would be suspected of his death because of her known dislike of Hazarin[2].
Personality and traits
He is seen as a man unwilling to accept his duty even though he can't. He hated his sister Imajane, but was a big admirer of her husband Rubinyan except for the other man's taste in wives.
Kyprioth mentioned to Ochobu Dodeka that Hazarin would be a worse king than King Oron[4], but that doesn't seem to be the case when Hazarin is king. He is also glad to die when he does, since he did not like his family and tired of the betrayal and the hatred that was fostered in his life[2].
Physical description
Hazarin is in his mid-forties. He is six foot and one inch tall. However, his height is offset by his weight. "He had a round face an a belly that spilled over the raka cloth-of-gold sarong he wore." His hair is combed straight back from his face which accents his "soft, blobby features." He has a spade shaped beard and full lips.

Hazarin only appears in Trickster's Choice.
