Haresfield is a village located in the Royal Forest of Tortall. It was attacked by bandits and centaurs in 456 HE. The King's Own was called to catch the bandits and help with repairs.[1]

The Damage[]
It was attacked by centaurs and humans. They destroyed the village, killing many people and setting homes ablaze after looting them while the families were still abed. A third of Haresfield had burned to the ground. The fires had weakened support beams, making homes and buildings that weren't completely destroyed unsafe. The wind carried the smell of burned flesh and wood. There were many dead.
The Attackers[]
The attackers were a mix of centaurs and humans. The humans were related, for the most part, to people in the village in some way. They set fires after they stole things, to be mischievous or to settle old scores. Most of the humans involved in the attack were kinsmen to the victims, which Kel marks as cowardice, to steal what little people had.
The King's Own met with Graystreak, the centaur chief. He had cast centaur males from the herd due to a conflict. Some centaur females followed him. As the males had no source of income or wealth, they were forced to steal to give the females gifts. When Graystreak looked as if he were trying to leave before having to supply a third of his centaurs to catch the rogues, geldings defied him, a stallion. He acquiesced, although he was not happy about it.
After Haresfield, the bandits were expected to attack the village of Owlshollow.
