Halef Seif (pronounced HAH-leff SIGHf) was the headman of the Bloody Hawk who befriended Alanna when she joined his tribe.
He was a very fair person, so he always ensured that every man in the tribe could voice his opinion. But he was also strict in ahering to Bazhir customs, although he was more open-mineded towards the changes caused by Alanna in the tribe than some of the other tribe members.
He later sent Alanna to save a childhood friend of his. Alanna came too late to save his friend. When she returned to the tribe, he sent her on the quest that lead her to the Dominion Jewel.
Physical description
Halef was described in The Woman Who Rides Like a Man as being about in his mid-thirties.
