I know that this might be a pet peeve of mine but it really has gotten to me. When people have been putting the appearances of characters in they've put what chapters that character has been in or putting (minor) next to the title.
This is really unnecessary, and is more work than is needed. These books are small enough for people to find what they are looking for, so we really don't need to pin down what chapter a character first appeared in. Also people don't need to be told if someone is a main character, or if they make a small appearance, it's overkill.
I do support placing a (mention) next to a title that a character is mentioned in because Pierce loves to give information about a charcter even though they don't appear in the book. i.e. Yazmín Hebet.

- I think it depends. Especially if a character is only mentioned it can be quite difficult to recall where exactly the character has been mentioned and looking through a whole book for a perhaps page-long mention proves to be tricky sometimes (at least that's my experience). So giving the exact chapter(s) where a character is mentioned or appears can be helpful for narrowing it down and finding the passage in question faster.
- Though I agree that it might be a bit too much for characters of more importance. I've been giving the chapter of appearance, too, for some time but haven't done so lately, instead only naming the novel and perhaps context of the mention/appearance, which should provide enough information to find the section in question.
- Giving precise information about where a character appeared might also help people who haven't read Tammy's books for a while or are new to them and are searching for a quick information or just browsing through.
