White Tiger is a six-issue limited series comic from the Marvel Universe which follows ex-FBI agent Angela Del Toro, a superhero living in New York City. Tamora Pierce served as writer for the series, with the third and fourth issues co-written by her husband Tim Liebe.[1]
After the death of her uncle Hector Ayala, the previous White Tiger, Angels tries to understand what motivated her uncle to become a superhero. While part of an FBI investigation of Matthew Murdock as the suspected vigilante Daredevil, Angela inherits her late uncles amulets, the ancient artifacts which bestow superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility and reflexes, allowing their wearer to become a martial arts master. In return for insight into the mind of a superhero, Angela quits her job and meets Murdock on the roof of St. Catherine's Cathedral, where as Daredevil, he engages her in combat. Once he is convinced of her ability, Murdock leads Angela to a robbery in progress, where she single-handedly subdues the robbers. Proud of her heroics and touched by the shopkeeper's awestruck gratitude, Angela finally begins to understand her uncle's (and now her own) calling as a superhero. Not long after, Angela proves herself as the new White Tiger by rescuing Murdock from ex-crimelord Alexander Bont and his reluctant henchman Gladiator.[2]
