Evin Larse (pronounced eh-VINN LAHRss) was one of Daine's first friends in the Queen's Riders. He had been recommended to the Riders by George, who knew his father. He was probably from the area around Pirate's Swoop. Evin had been a Player before joining the company, and had risen to command one of the Groups himself by the start of the Immortals War. He became Commander of the Queen's Riders after Buri gave up the post due to marrying Raoul of Goldenlake.
Evin first appeared in Wild Magic and later made some small appearances in the Protector of the Small quartet, namely the third volume, Squire. He was based on Tamora Pierce's "Spouse-Creature", her husband Tim Liebe[2].
