Ashstaff is a Kugiskan ambient carpentry mage.
She had a third heart attack that barely left her with enough magic to whittle with, and wouldn't be accepting students. Camoc Oakborn told Daja Kisubo this in order to be helpful while the young smith-mage was looking for teachers for the Bancanor twins[1].
Ashstaff never appears in the books, but is mentioned in the third book of The Circle Opens quartet, Cold Fire.
