Amaya Painter is a mage and resident of the Patten District in Corus.[1] She was the first victim of the Shadow Snake.
On February 1, 243 HE[2] her son and only child, Calum Painter, had been taken by the Shadow Snake. At that time she and her family had still lived in the Lower City. She told her husband, Vonti Painter, that their son was taken by slavers and he went after the child. His ship sunk and he died, too.
Her gift seems to include seeing certain things because she instantly recognizes Pounce as a being from the Divine Realms[3]. She is also able to make charms and obviously good enough at healing. She isn't a very potent mage, however.[4]
