Alzena Dihanur (pronounced ahl-ZAY-nuh DEE-hah-noor) was an assassin who was killed by Sandrilene fa Toren in 1039 KF. She was married to Nurhar Dihanur, and was thus a member of the cutthroat merchant clan House Dihanur by marriage. She was one of the perpetrators in the serial killings of 1039.

Biography

Early life

Alzena's parents were murdered when she was young, leaving her alone. House Dihanur, a powerful merchant clan, took her in, giving her shelter and food, as well as a family. She became very devoted to the family's interests.

Assassin

House Rokat, the rival merchant clan of the Dihanur family, had committed a brutal murder of the head member of the Dihanur clan, Palaq, after Palaq Dihanur had refused to allow one of his female relatives to marry a member of the Rokat family.

In response, the Dihanurs sent Nurhar and Alzena to assassinate all the Rokats in known existence, wiping their family out. The two found a young unmage who had been tortured by pirates. They used the unmagic in order to sneak up on their prey undetected. The mage was addicted to dragonsalt, so they used the drug as an incentive for the mage.

After killing the Rokats in Janaal and Bihan, the two assassins moved onto Emelan. In Summersea, they used the unmage to stalk undetected and to get through protective spells and wards, leaving no trace. They killed both children and adults, as well as the wives in case they were pregnant.

They were discovered, stopped, and killed by Sandrilene fa Toren and her dance-mage student Pasco Acalon.
