Template:Stub Alan of Trebond (b. ? - d. 434 HE[1]) was the biological father of Alanna the Lioness and her twin, Thom of Trebond. He was married to Marinine of Trebond[2], who died in childbirth with the twins.
He is described as very scholarly, and after the death of his wife he cares more for his scrolls than his children. He has a dislike of the Gift and would not allow his children to be trained. This seems to be due to the fact that he believed that the healers' Gifts should have saved Marinine's life.[3] He seems to dislike Gareth of Naxen from when they were younger.
He wrote the letters of introduction for Thom and Alanna that Thom then used to forge his own letters. He never realised that Thom and Alanna had swtiched places, he was so caught up in his scrolls. Alanna's son, Alianne's twin, is named after him.
He died calling out for his lost wife.
